What this website collects, why we collect it, where it’s kept and for how long, and how to ask us about it.
Who we are
High Level Kitchens & Cabinetry designs and installs custom kitchens and cabinetry from our showroom at 2825 D 2nd Avenue South in Lethbridge, Alberta. This notice covers this website and the personal information it handles: anything that identifies you, such as your name, email address, phone number or the drawings of your home.
Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) sets the rules we follow. We collect only what we need to answer you and plan your project, and we use it for that.
What the site collects
Most of the site collects nothing about you. These are the parts that do: what each one takes, why, where it’s kept and for how long.
-
Your Vision Board
- What
- The styles, colours and layout you pick, and any notes you type.
- Why
- So your board is still there when you come back.
- Where
- In your browser, on your device. Your picks stay there until you send the board. If you upload drawings or type a change, those reach us and the plan reader first (see below).
- How long
- Until you clear it, or clear this site’s data in your browser.
-
Share links
- What
- Your design choices, written into the link itself. Not your name, contact details or drawings.
- Why
- So you can show your board to someone else.
- Who sees it
- Anyone you give the link to.
-
Drawings and photos you upload
- What
- Plans, drawings and photos of your space, and pictures of your board.
- Why
- So we, and the plan reader below, can see your space.
- Where
- In private storage run by Supabase. A file opens only through a link that expires after a short time.
- How long
- With your enquiry, for as long as we keep it. Files you upload but never send are deleted after 7 days.
-
Reading your plans
- What
- The drawings you ask the plan reader to read. When you type a change, such as “make the island darker”, your board, that comment and the last few messages before it, and the plan if your layout was drawn from your plans.
- Why
- To turn your drawings into a starting layout, and your comments into changes on your board.
- Who
- Anthropic, a company in the United States that makes the Claude AI model, reads them to answer. Anthropic doesn’t use them to train its models.
- How long
- Anthropic’s own rules for business customers apply. We keep a log of each reading and each change request for 90 days: when it ran and what it cost, and for a reading, the layout it returned and which files it read. The log never holds your contact details or what you typed.
-
Sending your board
- What
- Your name, your email address or phone number, how you’d like us to reach you, and your answers about the project: new build or renovation, where it is, your builder, the rooms, timing, budget, an inspiration link and notes. Also the board and the files you added.
- Also
- When you agreed to be contacted, and the page on this site you sent it from (without anything after a “?”). The user agent your browser sends: a line of text that names your browser, its version, your operating system and often your device. And a scrambled code made from your IP address. The enquiry never holds the address itself.
- Why
- To get back to you, plan your kitchen and prepare a quote. The browser details and the scrambled code help us spot spam.
- Where
- In a private database run by Supabase.
- How long
- As long as we need it for your project and our records. Then we delete it.
-
Spam protection
- What
- A scrambled code made from your IP address, and a count of how often it has used the plan reader, uploads or enquiries.
- Why
- To stop one person, or one program, from using them too often.
- How long
- Up to three days.
- Also
- We may ask Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is using the page. Cloudflare sees your IP address and browser details to do that.
-
Calls, email and visits
- What
- What you tell us when you call, write or meet us.
- Why
- To answer you and do the work you ask for.
- How long
- As long as we need it for your project and our records.
Who else handles it
A few companies run parts of the site for us. They handle your information only to do that work.
- Cloudflare
- Serves the website and runs the plan reader and the enquiry form. Like any web host, it sees your IP address and browser details on every visit.
- Supabase
- Stores enquiries and the files you upload. Your browser sends uploads straight to it, so it sees your IP address and browser details.
- Anthropic
- Reads drawings and comments for the plan reader, in the United States.
- Google Fonts
- Supplies the site’s typefaces. Google sees your IP address and browser details when a page loads them.
- jsDelivr
- Supplies the code for the 3D views and the drawing reader, and sees the same.
- Our web developer
- Built the site and looks after it, so it can see what’s stored when something needs fixing.
Some of these companies store or handle information outside Canada, mostly in the United States, where the law may let authorities ask to see it. For our written policies on service providers outside Canada, or to ask how they handle your information, contact us (see Questions and complaints).
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Cookies and your browser
The site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing on it follows you to other sites.
The Vision Board saves your picks in your browser’s storage, on your device. To remove them, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
Links to Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook take you to those sites, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Consent and your choices
You don’t have to tell us anything to use the site. The Vision Board and the plan reader work without your name.
When you send a board, you tick a box agreeing that we can contact you about your project. You can take that back at any time by calling or emailing us. We’ll stop contacting you, and delete what you sent unless we still need it for work we’re doing for you or the law says we must keep it.
Seeing and correcting it
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, how we’ve used it and who we’ve shared it with, and ask us to correct anything that’s wrong. Send your request by email or mail (see Questions and complaints). We’ll reply within 45 days, as PIPA requires, and tell you if we need more time and why.
How we protect it
Pages and files travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Uploaded files sit in private storage and open only through links that expire after a short time. Our database never stores your IP address, only a scrambled code made from it.
Only High Level and the people who look after the site for us can see enquiries.
